Theatre that thrills!
The ruins of the Staufian Clingenburg castle rise majestically around 40 metres above the romantic town of Klingenberg am Main. Surrounded by vineyards and with terrace stages fanned out over several levels, it offers a unique backdrop for open-air theatre
performances. Relax, enjoy, switch off and draw attention to current themes – this is the motto of the organiser and director Wolfgang Hofmann.
Within the historical walls, the great classics are performed:
from William Shakespeare, Friedrich Schiller, Heinrich von Kleist, Goethe and Lessing. Over the years, opulent musical productions have also been received with enthusiasm: The Man from La Mancha, Evita, Cyrano de Bergerac, Aida, Zorro, Dracula, Hair, Cabaret and West Side Story.
For the little ones, there is also a lovingly staged, exciting children's theatre: Robber Hotzenplotz, Pippi Longstocking, the Little Witch and many more.
